Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary
You will enjoy your visit to Sariska. The place can be defined as ruggedly beautiful contrasts and undomesticated wildernesses.Sariska is situated in the state of Rajasthan in the backdrop of the Aravali Hills. Sariska was the hunting reserve of the royal family of Alwar. The topography of Sariska supports scrub-thorn arid forests, dry deciduous forests, rocks and grasses. This wildlife sanctuary boasts of some exotic temples belonging to the medieval time. One can spot the ruins of the temples of the Hindu God Shiva and Garh-Rajor. A 17th-century castle on a sharp hilltop at Kanakwari provides an excellent view of Sariska's avian inhabitants in full flight. The topography of Sariska comprises of the valleys of the Aravali hill range which makes it an ideal habitat for a diverse range of animals. Sariska National Park is famous for its tigers. There are about 35 tigers there and together with that, there are its fellow inhabitants like jackal, hyena, panther and fox. You will enjoy watching with the chital, nilgai, antelope, sambhar and wild boar. Sariska is home to gray partridges, gray partridges, peafowl, white-breasted kingfishers, crested serpent eagles and quails.
